Hello Färgglad Friend!
June was a whirlwind! As the kids’ school years came to a close, we had so many activities to attend. Goodbye picnics, summer birthday parties, and of course, the actual last day of school celebrations. We also, of course, celebrated Sweden’s best holiday, Midsummer. Together with friends, we had a wonderful day of eating pickled herring and drinking refreshing drinks in the sunshine.
Besides all of the fun, I also got a ton of work done. To get ready for our international move and to be able to enjoy a few weeks of vacation, I made sure to schedule as much content for July and August as I possibly could. (I’d like to give past Kristina a major pat on the back because it was incredible how much I was able to accomplish in 2 weeks.)
What awaits in July is a very fun trip to Germany to view the house that we will be renting, visit the school the kids will attend and just explore the area where we will move. It is crazy to me that I am moving to a new country that I’ve never even visited before. So this quick trip will at least give us an idea before the moving truck comes in August. Yikes!
It’s also summer vacation time. While in Germany, we want to visit the Alps, because wouldn’t that be fun? Never been there either. We also plan on visiting friends on the gorgeous Swedish island Gotland, which will be a treat. It’s so gorgeous there, and it’s been years since we were there last. Can’t wait to just spend a lot of time with my beautiful family, painting plein air, exploring new places, reading incredibly cozy books, and basking in the sunshine. Summer in Sweden is the best!
Alright, moving on to what’s going on in July here on Substack, Patreon and Skillshare. Let’s go! (Though I will be on vacation, all my usual content will continue as usual.)

In my Fun Friday group we are going to be painting colorful landscape scenes together. I really look forward to sharing how I go about playing with color in the landscape.
