Hello Färgglad Friend!

My friends! We are moving to Germany this month. How wild is that?! We are so ready as a family; it’s going to be such a fun adventure. In July, we went for a week to visit the area we are moving to (the Nuremberg area) so we could house hunt, see the kids’ school and enjoy some well-needed vacation time in the German Alps. We looked at 7 houses, and they were all unfortunately not so nice, and none of them checked all of our boxes (but isn’t that always the case, nothing is perfect) but we settled on a cozy and quirky apartment instead from the 1700s. I think we’ll really like living there, at least to begin with. The Alps were gorgeous. It was incredible to hike up real mountains (Sweden is flat in comparison to the Alps) and swim in Alpine lakes. The water was incredibly clear! We can’t wait to explore more areas around the South of Germany and surrounding countries as well. Woo hoo!

Alright, moving on to what’s going on in August here on Substack, Patreon and Skillshare. Let’s go! (Though I will be on vacation as well as moving international, all my usual content will continue as usual.)

Substack:

  • New for this year I’ll be sharing my monthly Knitting and Arty Visual Podcast. Hope you’ll enjoy that. :)

  • Free Feedback Session. Check out the archives to view previous sessions. At this time I do not know if I will start them up again.

Patreon:

  • This month in Collection Club we are going to be designing 70’s collections. A fun portfolio addition.

  • In my Fun Friday group we are going to be painting your travel photos together. I really look forward to sharing how I go about playing with color in the landscape.

  • (Look out for a separate post all about what’s going on in my Patreon groups with fun live drawing dates and other details coming in the next day or so.)

Skillshare:

Have you checked out my latest class, number 43, Fill a Sketchbook: Peaceful Paneled Pages Edition? Such a relaxing and easy class to learn how to make paneled pages in your sketchbook that you’ll just want to fill.

As always, I would love to know what you’d like me to teach next in an upcoming Skillshare class. Next up I’m working on a Surface Design Portfolio class and that will be launched this Fall, woo hoo. Remember that new to Skillshare people can enjoy a free trial with my link here.

Thank you all for being here and sticking around during this move to Substack. I really hope that you’ll like it here and be able to navigate my content even better. If you haven’t noticed, I have taken away the paid subscription option. I’ve decided that I prefer all my content here on Substack to be available to everyone. If you’d like more in-depth teaching content, you can check out my Patreon or my Skillshare classes. :)

Have a great and creative month!

xo Kristina
