I remember our weekly trips to the library when I was a kid. They were part adventure, part respite. Being alone in the stacks, pulling out titles by the spines to find one that spoke to me, I developed my independence, my intuition, and most importantly, my sense of self. My brothers and I would split up and go our ways, then meet with piles of books on the purple couch by the window over the water. During these times of quiet, freedom and safety, Mom would be looking for her own books. During the week we would have quiet reading time while she made us dinner, getting lost in other worlds as the house filled with good smells. This peaceful ritual has stayed with me all my life...as has my love of reading.
That’s why I love knowing that my books live in libraries around the world.
When you borrow The Souls of Her Feet ebook orThe Winning Family audiobook from your library and give it a positive rating, you’re doing more than enjoying a book….You’re voting!
Libraries pay attention to:
how often a book is checked out
how long people engage with it
how it’s rated by readers and listeners
Those signals help libraries decide which books to keep, expand, and share with more families. So one simple rating can help another tired parent find tools that actually work… another reader who loves the lift of a funny fractured fairytale.
