Post Knicks Depression and the sadness within what I may return to

I had a pretty great two weeks, guys. It’s been so busy I couldn’t write, or I chose to scroll on Instagram. I have returned to old behaviors, and I can’t seem to do it all. I don’t think I can deal with another trending Zohran meme of him saying “dark money” after I just set up a music video with Black and Jewish kids at a kids’ museum. I don’t wanna return to “protest content” and being in the face of who is antisemitic and anti-Israel and anti-Palestine and anti-Iran war and the endless doomscroll of life. I wanna make rap music for kids, entertain nursing homes, plant flowers, and cook for a woman…and go running a lot.

Recently, a young friend of mine (Mikey Darwish) wrote about how he is leaving Israel / Jewish content for music/sports but still obviously having it. He is a Lebanese Jew who is quite rare in today’s world. I get it. I’m exhausted. I gotta say that my personal life is suffering. Relationships. Connection. I don’t think I give a good perspective on it. I prefer my real life. I want joy. I don’t wanna fight the mayor of NYC or go to a protest. The other day, a kid I know who is in the scene and gets arrested at protests and does music was gonna play outside a restaurant. Bring some joy. I was there, and someone asked me to rap, and he left once he saw the video cameras. He couldn’t enjoy the moment because of what other people might think.

To me, that is the bigger tragedy here. I get the protests and who you will vote for. Great. But I am a former convicted criminal. I thought I was not allowed to vote until I was, and that was because I was influenced by the people around me.

That is the real NYC thing happening. I WAS ON KTU!!! Gosh!! That was a huge call.
