BOTTOM OF THE PYRAMID

Me!

According to Whoop, I have a sleep debt issue, which is not a complete surprise. Also, according to Whoop, my long-term performance may be perfected, though I do not know in what regard Whoop thinks I am “performing,” as much as I’m just trying to live.

I could have sworn I paid back some of my debt this weekend, but it feels like there’s a vig on sleep debt? Like, the interest rate is a lot higher than I thought, and I’m getting further behind because I’m just not able to aggro sleep enough to pay down the central debt? Between taking kids to school and just being a human in the world, I’m finding it hard to reasonably get more than 6 hours a night, BEST CASE.

If you are reading this and you get more than 6 hours easily, how do you do this?

Lanterns!

I liked the pilot. The second episode was fine. I like Kyle Chandler, and Aaron Pierre is a star. But there’s just something I can’t quite put my finger on that is keeping me from loving it. It feels a little bit like a show that you’d see airing on the WB right now, and the DC comics of it are really coming through in a way that is slightly off-putting.

Also, it almost feels a little low-budget? It may not be exactly fair that I’m comparing it so closely to something like True Detective or Watchmen, but this almost feels like a show that should be airing on Peacock instead of primetime HBO, and just got the baton from House of the Dragon. I dunno. I’m going to keep watching, but are you watching? And if so, what’s your vibe?
