There’s never been a real cultural movement without music behind it.

Think about it. The hippie movement didn’t spread through whitepapers or policy briefs, it spread through songs by Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd. Civil rights didn’t just move through legislation, it moved through voices like Sam Cooke singing “A Change Is Gonna Come.” Even sports culture today isn’t just about the game, it’s the soundtrack around it, from “I Believe I can fly” by R. Kelly to “Forever” by Drake. Music carries emotion. It spreads ideas faster than anything else. It makes people feel something, and once people feel something, they move.

Every Major Innovation Faces Resistance

That’s exactly why we decided to make a song for Stand With Crypto.

Because crypto, whether people realize it yet or not, is in that same phase right now. It’s a once-in-a-generation shift, and like every major shift before it, it’s running into friction.

History always repeats itself here. When the stock market first started opening up to everyday people, there was skepticism, pushback, and a lack of understanding. When the internet first came around, people thought it was a fad, governments didn’t know how to regulate it, and legacy industries tried to slow it down. Same thing with automobiles replacing horses. New technology disrupts the status quo, and the people who benefit from the old system don’t just step aside quietly.

Blockchain is no different. In fact, it might be the most disruptive of them all because it doesn’t just change one industry, it touches everything. Finance, gaming, ownership, identity, commerce and more. And because of that, it threatens centralized control in a way most technologies never have. So naturally, there’s resistance. There’s confusion. There’s policy being written by people who don’t use or understand the tech, and that’s the problem.

The Movement Turning Holders Into Voters

And that’s where Stand With Crypto comes in.

Stand With Crypto started as an initiative out of Coinbase, but it’s grown into something much bigger. The mission is simple but powerful: make sure the people who actually use crypto have a voice in how it’s regulated and adopted. That means educating voters so they understand what’s at stake. It means showing lawmakers how many of their constituents actually hold crypto. It means grading politicians based on their stance so people can make informed decisions. It means supporting candidates who are pro-innovation and pushing for clear, fair market structure laws.

And most importantly, it means turning crypto holders into voters.

Because here’s the reality: we can’t just hold. We can’t just build. We have to participate.

This isn’t just a U.S. thing either. What happens with regulation in the U.S. has ripple effects globally. If the framework here is strong, innovation stays. Capital flows in. Builders build here. And that sets the tone for the rest of the world. This is a global movement, even if the battleground starts locally.

Why We Made A Song

We made a song because we support the mission, and more than that, we understand something a lot of people overlook: information alone doesn’t move culture. Emotion does. Energy does. Music does. A song can reach people who would never read a policy breakdown. It can get people hyped. It can get people involved.

Throughout the song, Karisma’s voice, lyrics, emotion, and energy reflect the importance of women being heard and represented in crypto and included in shaping the future of Web3.

So we didn’t just make a song, we made something intentional.

We structured it as a transition record, almost like a two-in-one. The first half is something you can ride and bob your head to, something you can play casually. The second half shifts energy, something you can march to, something that feels like a rally. That was deliberate. We wanted it to hit both sides. The casual listener and the person already deep in the space.

We’ve always been a fan of transitions and we think Drake does it best. Tracks like “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2 Music,” “Furthest Thing,” “Middle of the Ocean,” and “Champagne Poetry.” Those moments where the beat switches and the tone changes, it takes you on a journey. It feels like progression inside the song itself. We wanted to bring that same feeling here, but tie it into the message.

At the same time, we wanted the song to stand on its own. If you don’t know what Stand With Crypto is, it should still sound good. But if you are deep in crypto, there are layers for you too.

For example, the line:
“If we don’t fork the future, we’ll never touch the trees like Merkle.”

That’s not just a bar, that’s a concept. In blockchain, Merkle trees are a way of structuring data so it can be verified efficiently and securely. They’re foundational to how blockchains work. So the line is saying if we don’t actively shape the direction of this technology, we won’t even get access to the structure that makes it valuable in the first place. It’s a double meaning, technical and philosophical.

Then following it with:
“We always protect our pockets, we hardcore crypto nerds like Urkel.”

That’s the balance. You can be technical, but still make it fun, still make it cultural.

Because that’s the bigger picture here.
