In this weeks post:

  • Three styling tricks for outfitting with sneakers

  • A layering trick I come back to over and over

  • The last two weeks of getting dressed (my version of a “set”)

  • Vintage and vintage-inspired sourcing

Pink and red has been one of my favorite color combinations lately. Layering similar shades creates more depth than wearing just one, and the denim keeps it from feeling overly sweet.

Bandana tip: Clip your hair up before tying it on, then let it back down. It makes the whole process so much easier.

sunglasses, vintage shirt jacket (alts here, here, here), old button down (shop vintage and geo inspired alts here, here, here, here, here), these jeans aren't made with the frayed hem anymore, so I tracked down a bunch of pairs in sizes 24–29 (here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here), boots

The fringe at the hem keeps your eye moving through the outfit instead of stopping at the jacket. I'm always thinking about where the visual weight lives and trying to spread it throughout an outfit rather than concentrating it in one place.

vintage shirt jacket (alts here, here, here), old button down (shop vintage and vintage inspired alts here, here, here, here, here), these jeans aren’t produced with the frayed hem anymore so I sourced a bunch in sizes 24-29 since last time I linked they were all purchased (here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here), boots

The pieces don't actually match, but they all live in the same muted, earthy color family. That's what lets you mix different textures and patterns without the outfit feeling chaotic.
