To all the women doing the unseen work of mothering our friends, sisters, parents, children, other people’s children, pupils, neighbours and animals, you might get irritated by today, Mother’s Day, and all the pictures of nuclear birth families gathering round the table with Mom and Grandma, cards and flowers and acknowledgement.
