Sidney and Nancy Kirkpatrick · Cayce Universe by biographers Sidney and Nancy Kirkpatrick

It is with great sorrow that we share the news that my beloved husband and best-selling author Sidney Dale Kirkpatrick III (age 69) left this world for other realms on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:01 a.m. Pacific time.

After almost four years of a valiant struggle — and enduring far too many medical errors — his heart finally gave out.

Please visit www.sidneykirkpatrick.com for ongoing updates, to share photos, videos, and stories, and for information on memorial gatherings in:

  • Pasadena, California — November 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. (RSVP to attend in person, to livestream and to access the on-demand recording that will be available)

  • Virginia Beach, Virginia (June)

  • Ontario, Canada (July)

  • Stony Brook, Long Island, NY (TBA)

  • Laguna, California (TBA)

Sid was not afraid to make this transition. He believed deeply in the continuance of life beyond this one. Yet he truly did not want to leave us now.

He slipped away in his sleep, surrounded by family, knowing he was loved.
We continue to yearn for him.

Death in the physical is the birth in the spiritual” Edgar Cayce Reading 900-331

Online Tribute Available Now: A beautiful tribute to Sid’s life and work was shared by Christopher Naughton, Emmy-award winning communicator, attorney, and the newly appointed CEO of the A.R.E., together with John Van Auken, beloved Cayce teacher and author. Their heartfelt words honor Sid’s storytelling gifts, his devotion to spiritual understanding, and the light he brought to the Cayce community.

  • Sid’s YouTube page with videos from many years for his various books, not all related to Edgar Cayce. https://www.youtube.com/@AuthorSidneyKirkpatrick.

  • “Sid’s The Skye Boat Song” and Photo Album Video.
Pleases scroll down and make sure your sound is turned on.
This is a simple slideshow set to The Skye Boat Song — one of Sid’s lifelong favorites. The photos aren’t in order, and they aren’t polished. They capture the real and beautiful mess of a full life.

The lyrics were reimagined by Nancy and daughter, Vienna — inspired by Sid. Only the chorus remains, and even there, one word changed: instead of “gone,” it’s now “moved on.” Because I believe that Sid isn’t gone—he has just moved on. The music (copyright Vienna Thurlbeck) was created by AI with Vienna’s diligent and creative guidance.

No doubt, Sid and Edgar Cayce are hanging out. Nevertheless we miss him here on this plane so very much.

Thank you for remembering Sid with us. We will be doing additional photo tributes as we gather more photos in coming weeks.

  • Visit Sid’s pages on Amazon to learn more about his various books. There is much updating needed so check back again every once in awhile.
