It can be worrying when you just can’t find the energy? Interest? You know you want to start to create, but just can’t seem to get going. Having time and head space can help. I find getting all my favourite media out in a pile helps. I start to see colours that I want to put together and layer, then the magic begins.
A pile of possibility
I’m developing some small, stitched collages to mount onto canvases for my local gallery. It’s been a while since I gave them some new work. Keeping the pieces small make them more - doable, less threatening somehow. I will use hand and/or machine stitch to add a bit of definition.
These pieces are around 6” square. Large enough to hold easily, not so large to be daunting.
How do you get going when you feel that nagging itch to create? Do you have to clean the whole house before you can give yourself permission to play? Maybe you take the dogs out for a long walk to clear your head?
I would love to know.
