People love to talk about business strategy. However, there is one skill underneath every successful business that most people completely sleep on.

Communication.

You can have the greatest product in the world, but if you cannot communicate why someone needs it, nobody will buy it. You can be incredibly talented, but if your message is confusing, people will scroll past you. You can have a gorgeous brand and thousands of followers, but if your audience does not feel understood, they will not trust you enough to purchase.

Communication is not just the way you speak. It is the way you position your ideas, tell stories, create desire, build trust, lead an audience, and make people remember your energy.

So, here are ten communication psychology tricks every person with a business should know. This article is going to be on the longer side, because your girl does not gatekeep xx

The first rule of effective communication is understanding that your audience cares more about their own life than they care about your business.

Your audience does not wake up wondering what you launched today. They wake up thinking about their own problems, fears, goals, frustrations, and desires.

This is why announcements like, “I created a new course,” or, “I worked so hard on this offer,” are not enough to make someone buy. That information matters to YOU, but to your audience it’s like white noise blablabla. This is why you need to enter the private conversation already happening inside your ideal client’s mind.

For example, instead of saying, “I created a personal branding course,” say, “I created this for the woman who knows she has something to say but freezes every time she opens Instagram because she is terrified of being judged.”

The second version works because the person can locate themselves inside the message. They are no longer hearing about your product…they are hearing about their own life.
