KHÔRA’s Heat Issue is here ✨
The Things I Would Do If You Walked Through That Door by AD Nolan
Issue 53 Heat Issue Highlights
Welcome to KHÔRA’s Heat Issue.
Our second annual Heat Issue gathers work that burns—political rage, desire and longing, kink, self-immolation, transformation, and the many ways a body can ignite. As always, the pieces have been carefully curated to speak to one another, creating a conversation that unfolds across language and visual art.
If this issue moves you, please share it with someone who needs it. Every share helps new readers discover the extraordinary writers and artists who make KHÔRA possible.
If you sent us something for the Heat Issue and didn’t hear back, please remember that you won’t ever receive a notice of rejection from us. Your words remain active in our ocean. What does that mean? We stay open to the possibility that, at any point, your work may find a home in another issue or collaboration. In fact, we often revisit submissions several times before deciding where a piece belongs. Sometimes it’s years later that a work reveals itself as the missing piece of a particular issue. Every issue is intended to be a conversation.
Help us celebrate—and share the heat with the people you love.
Happy Summer!

the night frogs all crescendo. I wouldn’t be gentle when
you walked through the door because if you walked through
that door I would know we would have time, finally, we would
have time to go slow and more, we could say things like
Have you ever? Me neither. Let’s never together. And I’d
go down on all fours just to hear you take some god’s name in
vain, desire a wet nimbus, the air gone all ozone. If you…
