As the year winds down

There isn't much 2025 left, and you all have made this a year to remember for me and my crew. I'm grateful everyday for all of the words of encouragement you've shared with me this year. Getting to set Settle In out into the world this fall and see where it might go has been an incredible highlight to an already amazing year. 

As we approach the holidays and the year's end, I'm reminded of the hopelessness of living break to break. So many of us are guilty of looking to breaks to rejuvenate us and to fill our rest tanks. We limp into the holidays looking for some relief and end up worse off by the time the celebrations have ended. One of the things I hope people take away from Settle In is that rest isn't primarily a function of inactivity but of orientation. A life oriented around Christ, aligned under his yoke, tending with him to his gardens, is the only life of rest. We're most at rest when we are where we are made to be, doing what we were made to do. No amount of me-time will ever satisfy, but a life in acknowledgement of our time as God's brings true rest.
