NYC School Asked Anti-IHRA CAIR to Help Train Students and Staff on Antisemitism After Jewish Students Faced Bigotry

As Jewish students at Townsend Harris High School faced a wave of targeted bigotry over Israel and their Jewish identities post-October 7, administrators at the Queens public school asked the Council on American-Islamic Relations — an antizionist group labeled a terrorist organization by two U.S. states — to help train students and staff on responding to antisemitism, internal emails show.

The records, obtained from the NYC Department of Education through a Freedom of Information Law request by United Jewish Teachers President Moshe Spern and provided to After October 7, reveal considerably more than was publicly known about CAIR-NY’s involvement at Townsend Harris after the October 7 atrocities and ensuing Israel-Hamas war.
