April flew by and was a very full but wonderful month. Honestly, as we head into May, I feel a little weary. I have found myself re-evaluating what is on the calendar for the next month and looking for where I can carve out rest.

May is already known to be May-cember, and then you add in my husband and daughter’s birthdays along with traveling for a cheer competition, and it is a lot.

I think we all can enter May knowing it will be a fuller month and having lots of extra grace for others. We are all in this together!

Next week, I will be sharing a post filled with tips to survive May and maybe even thrive.

Let’s jump into April Favorites!

Favorite Moment- There were so many beautiful moments, but one of my favorite moments was a Friday evening when I got home from my daughter’s cheer practice. The weather was perfect out, and my husband and I sat on the back porch with a cocktail, listened to music, and talked. It was simple and exactly what I needed. That Friday has now spurred on more Friday nights of a similar rhythm.

Spring Break- We traveled to Miramar Beach, Florida, for the majority of spring break with two other families and my brother-in-law and his girlfriend. We all stayed at a big house together that had a pool and was within walking distance of the Gulf. Honestly, it felt like a dream. It was the most relaxing and fun vacation.

Favorite Fiction Books- I did not read as much this month, and it was a month of struggling with good books. I think my favorite would be The Names by Florence Knapp. However, it is a very heavy book. I had this as my book to read on spring break and I definitely should have brought a lighter book to read.

Nonfiction Book of the Month- I actually read one and listened to another. I read I Just Wish I Had a Bigger Kitchen: And Other Lies I Think Will Make Me Happy. This was a quick read. I feel like it would be a good book to have on hand and to pick up when you are struggling in a particular area, as it covers a wide variety of areas of a woman’s life. I wish I had a book like this to read as a young mom.

I listened to the audiobook of How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind. While I did gain a few helpful tips, overall, I realized I am not really the author’s audience. I am the kind of person who struggles to relax when her house is a mess, which the author said early on, she does not struggle with this. It was an easy listen to and good to listen to for some quick tips- if I were her audience, I think I would have loved it.

Plastic Cups and Iced Coffee- I ordered a box of these and had iced coffee with the ladies of my small group one week, and it was a hit! One of my friends suggested this, and I loved the simplicity of the cups and how easy it was for us all to mix up our drinks quickly. My kids loved using the leftover cups for smoothies.

Workout Top- I love this workout top. It is loose, which I am a fan of, and keeps me cool. I would size up a size personally.

Something to Watch- We started watching Paradise this month and have been loving it. We are almost finished with season 2. It is such a well-done show. You can find it on Hulu.

Stay tuned, as paid subscribers will be getting the Prepping for Summer post for free! It will include video content, and I will go through the basics of preparing for summer with kids (I used to lead a workshop about this).
