I guess that my local Salvation Army Thrift Store has too many used books. A few weeks ago I noticed that they were selling books for the price of $1 for a foot high stack. The store also gives senior citizens a 25% discount on Tuesdays, so yesterday I bought a stack of books for a grand total of 79 cents (75 cents plus 4 cents for Wisconsin state sales tax). Christine and I already have far more books than can comfortably fit in our little home, but I was not buying the books for me. I had a plan.
On most days I go out with my bike and camera, riding about a dozen miles and taking pictures of things that interest me. I also tend to stop at various Little Free Libraries and sometimes I find things that I wind up lugging home. But other times, like today, I drop books off.
I took the 14 books I’d bought yesterday and added a few more from the home stockpile and today in addition to riding my bike and photographing some birds and bees and butterflies, I dispersed some books over about a dozen Little Free Libraries. There are dozens of LFLs all over Superior and I only got to a small percentage of them today, but there will be other days.
