Two-goal Hudson impresses in away FA Cup upset

Two-goal Harry Hudson helped Snodland Town to an FA Cup preliminary round success at higher-division Harrow Borough on Saturday.

Hudson broke the deadlock in the 17th minute and, soon after Harry Nevins had been red-carded for the Isthmian South Central hosts, the vastly-experienced Connor Dymond made it 2-0 to Snodland.

Substitute Gareth Chendlik pulled one back four minutes from time but Hudson had the last laugh, completing a 3-1 victory in stoppage time.

Whitstable were 5-0 winners against Newhaven at home.

There were braces for forward Jack Nelson and versatile midfielder Robbie Rees, with midfielder Henry Young also among the goals for Lee Martin’s men at The Belmont.

Cray Valley lost 4-0 at home to lower-league AFC Greenwich Borough - with Chris Dickson on target twice for the Millers - with Tunbridge Wells going down 3-1 despite Rhys Bartlett’s second-half strike.

Faversham Town were held to a goalless draw at Bedfont.

Other ties requiring replays see Corinthian, who had substitute Alfie Cragg on target in the initial game, welcome Broadfields United - who have already controversially knocked out Herne Bay - to Gay Dawn Farm, and Punjab United play away to SE Dons.

It took an injury-time equaliser from Hudson Scudder to stop Chipie Sian’s side from going out as the initial tie finished 1-1 at The Steve Cook Stadium.
