We’re going from The Creative Witch to Iridescent Chaos, all decided in a pub in wales (a big thank you to Cezanne for the idea). Yes my inner witch is still there, but I’ve gone though a huge life transition in the past few months, and so now is the time for rebirth.
I left my long-held job and for the first time in around 30 years I’m stepping into life as an independent artist and creative practitioner. But this isn’t a post about my story. It’s about why a space like this matters now, and why it might matter to you.
We’re surrounded by noise, urgency, certainty, and systems that reward speed over depth. We’re stressed by constantly trying to produce, be successful, and become better versions of ourselves. We are far less comfortable exploring what has to fall away first. The moments when life asks us to slow down, question, and reimagine rather than push harder.
Imagination and creativity are not indulgences they are our most human traits. They are how we make sense of change, find meaning in the mess, and imagine futures that are more generous than the ones we currently have on offer. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that creativity will save the world. The everyday work of thinking differently and living more honestly will transform everything. Big statement I know, but true.
This space is for people who feel that pull. People who want to live creatively and wildly, not recklessly, but with intention. People who are tired of tidying themselves to fit systems that no longer fit them. People who sense that imagination is not something we grow out of, but something we need to return to.
Nothing here will be perfect (as much as I will still fall into the trap of perfection). There will be fragments, questions, half-formed ideas, and moments of clarity. The mess isn’t a problem - it’s the material.
