Let it be seen directly.
There is a difference between understanding and contact. The mind rarely notices it, because the mind treats both as the same currency.
You can gather a lifetime of insight: doctrines refined, experiences catalogued, language sharpened, and still sense something essential has not been touched. The insight was not wrong. But knowing, at its deepest, is not a conclusion. It is communion.
You can feel the difference in the body. Thinking about truth often carries a subtle tension, a reaching. Contact brings a softening, a settling, as though something that was bracing has finally put its weight down.
The difficulty is that the mind wants to hold what it finds. It shapes the infinite into something graspable, something to carry and defend. But what is real does not hold still in that way. It is not a position. It is a living presence that meets you when the grip loosens.
This is why the deepest movements on any genuine path tend to be subtractions. You release what was never yours. Each honest surrender of opinion, of image, of the insistence on knowing in advance removes what was obscuring contact. You are not building something new. You are uncovering what was always here.
The sculptor does not invent the form inside the stone. The sculptor removes everything that is not the form. The path works the same way.
Try to see the moon’s reflection in churning water and it will not resolve. The more the surface is stirred with effort and interpretation, the more distorted the image becomes. When the water calms, the reflection clears. Nothing was added. Nothing arrived. What was always being reflected simply became visible.
Presence does not ask for your mastery. It asks for your stillness.
The deepest knowing is not a conclusion. It is communion.
