I find myself debating frivolous-ity.
Are the comments that say the quiet part loudly,
frivolous?
HR might not consider it harassment
—so might it be too frivolous to confront?
WHY does my confidence offend thee?
Is it truly a problem with(in) me?
too black to be as pretty as he/she/they
label me to be.
is it my fault that I trust nobody.
Once upon a time
you/her/he was “there for me”
until suddenly
my self love ran too deep.
I dare believe myself to be worthy.
—you see,
my ______ makes a habit
of overstepping every boundary,
never too subtly—
he loves to neg.
neg (v): the practice of insulting or undermining someone in the belief that diminished self-confidence will make them more receptive to sexual advances.
about my Raya dates,
about my honeymoon fantasies,
about the way I sing,
about the coworkers and customers who crush on me.
You see, his goal is to crush me
—in a manner of speak.
He also loves to bring up unsolicited stories about
football players who got divorced bc their
_____ is too big.
oh oh and how his friend had a similar issue!
How does one define frivolous?
I think with petty—
it may be synonymous.
