If even the slightest critique gets you pulled from air (sorry Jimmy and Stephen), free speech is dead. If Black men are being lynched again for the sins and solace of white men, we’ve become 3/5ths human again. If tech bros can condemn communities to choke on their ambitions for the “aggressive aggregation of information” then my friends, we are cooked.

If you haven’t already, the time has come to learn your neighbors first, middle, and last name. Community building is the closest we’ve come to an antidote to fascism. Think of mutual aid as an antibiotic (or antipsychotic). It only works if you keep taking it for the recommended dosage. This one is 3 years—to start. Initial side effects may include awkwardness and social anxiety but those subside with time, especially when taken with food.

I promise you the benefits outweigh the risks.

Socialists will tell you that they have the solutions to our problems. They do. Listen to them. Please. What’s always perplexed me about the arguments against socialism of the democratic variety is this warped perception of being the root of all evil unlike capitalism which has brought nothing but prosperity and liberty for all. Capitalists spout warnings of slavery and state dependency, widespread hunger and abuses of power, health inequities and the disintegration of merit based elevation, violent uprisings and a barren future.

FEMA and Fascism:

Way back in June 2025, the White House (Trump) took it upon itself to dictate who gets FEMA relief money and when. Did he tell FEMA or submit any corresponding paperwork? No. Instead, he instructed the new unqualified acting administrator David Richardson to fire dozens of tenured FEMA staff—to “carry out President Trump’s intent”- starting with denying aid to democratic states like Washington for example. Is it a coincidence that Kamala won in Washington? No. While key personnel were fired en masse, the agency failed to establish a proper plan ahead of hurricane season. As a result Camp Mystic lost 27 campers and counselors—as part of the 135 people who died during the 100 Year Flood that devastated Texas on the 4th of July.

Choking on AI:

No AI Hype! Just Say No! are slogans for the people’s movement to rid Memphis of Musk’s xAI data centers and save Atlanta and Alabama from the same poisonous fate brought on by “Project Sail” and “Project Marvel” respectively. “Drunk on progress” or rather the idea of it, the Atlanta Board of Commissioners casually agreed to rezone 831-acres from the “rural conservation” slate to the “light industrial” slate. In Bessemer, Alabama, secret plans for an 18 server farm the size of a Walmart Supercenter were exposed and residents rallied to delay the planning and zoning commission from pushing this project forward—thus (temporarily) saving residents the 100 acres of land and 2 million gallons of water it would use—daily. Both of those figures are conservative estimates. This is the same story in many communities across the country. Tech bros make billions while data centers run on methane gas turbines polluting the air and exacerbating climate change and health inequities. Thankfully, these communities are not going down without a fight.

Silent Talk Shows:

Jimmy Kimmel is back! It only took Disney’s stock price dropping 3.7% at a stockholder value of roughly $7.4 billion. While the internet (or at least my corner of it) quickly rallied to defend Kimmel, this trend began back in July when CBS decided to cancel the Late Show with Stephen Colbert just three days after he criticized the Paramount Global settlement with Trump. Trump quickly gloated about this while prophesying that Jimmy Kimmel was next. Days after Kimmel was suspended indefinitely (but before he was reinstated) Trump declared that critical coverage on him and his administration is illegal hate speech.

This is hell.
