Real talk my beautiful internet friends,

Some of you are out here waiting for the internet to become a safe space before you click publish, post or open your mouth or message to the world.

I get it, It’s scary, vulnerable, all the things.

Here’s what I know…

The internet was never designed to be safe for you.

It will never become that.

As long as you are outsourcing your sense of feeling safe, to the external world of strangers on the internet, you will never embody yourself.

Never know your voice. Never decide to go all in.

You need to have the courage to advocate for your vision regardless.

Look, I get it. The internet authenticity police demand vulnerability and realness like it’s the only pre-requisite to being online. As if that will fix the complex and nuanced landscape of the online projection of the human social psyche.

They demand this, without offering any safety, any formal container, or anything in return that makes that vulnerability and authenticity feel somewhat like a human interaction.

The internet wants a one sided situationship where they get to consume you, your thoughts, your words, your philosophy, your value and maybe if you’re lucky, give you a thumbs up in return.

It’s not really screaming “Put myself out there” or “reveal my deepest and darkest” in the name of “authentic expression”.

So what do we do?

Come, here.

Closer.
Lean in.

I’ll tell you the secret.

The one all the social media gurus aren’t telling you because they are still stuck on viral hooks.

You have no choice but to curate a felt sense of safety to use your voice. You have to dig deep and become courageous. You have to decide strangers on the internet have no say over your self expression. No matter what. Regardless of any feedback loop online. Regardless of what aunt Sheryl thinks. Regardless of If you loose half your “audience”.

Then you have to build self trust to journey through the emotional alchemy that comes after. The vulnerability whiplash. The discomfort of perception, observation or even, crickets.

When you do this, you build inner strength. You show up again. You realise you’re still alive. You gather data on yourself. You notice where you are still gripping. Still needing. Still controlling. Eventually, you begin liberating yourself.

This is not linear.

There comes a point where you genuinely have to back yourself more fully than anyone else ever will.

In that confidence, your energy ruptures the illusion and fabric of the comfort of those around you.

THAT truth and authenticity that is not waiting on any approval or nod of resonance. THAT will tear through those paying attention (and those who aren’t) and immediately people will know if they want to stay or leave.

They want to leave? Let them. Let them run for the hills.

YOU are a force. You have every right to stand there, with your feet on the ground and say “This is who I am, This is what I stand for, and I am unattached to whether you like it or not”

I currently have hundreds and hundreds of people leaving my instagram every day right now.

I am stoked.

Genuinely pleased with myself, and every unfollow is a sign that I am choosing myself over an audience.
Because for the first time I am owning what is true and honest.
My joy, my play, pleasure, happiness, grief, sadness. All of it.

In that journey, those who have previously half paid attention are now ALL IN with me.

A quote my friend Angel says - “If you’re not turning anyone off, you’re not turning anyone on”.

And honestly,

I just want to turn myself on.

Be ON and proud of my courage to show up online in a way that’s real.

Advocate for my vision, my offerings, my excitement loud and proud.

And I want this for you.

As people leave, new people are arriving in hoards. Because they can SEE me now, as someone who they are for.

I trust that. But at the end of the day none of it matters other than my own energetic relationship with social media and how I feel showing up there.

Most people feel good with good metrics.

They feel shit when they aren’t received.

I mean, it’s human.

You’re human.

We all want to be received but I promise you, you only want to be received by the RIGHT people and the only way to the right people is by cultivating your OWN safety so that you can hold your own voice, share your own mind, judge yourself less, and mother yourself through your own discomfort and in that alchemical process.

You become more you. You attract the correct people. You feel nourished by your experience of social media. You cringe at others less, because you cringe at yourself less.

If you are a woman in the world with something big to say - You are GOING to rock the boat. That is the path of initiation.

Rock it.

Now the collective energy breathes life into the version of you that you have claimed for yourself and it amplifies. It builds in momentum.

Opportunities find you.

People find you.

Your work thrives.

Your vision for your family evolves before your eyes.

Most importantly, you find yourself in the online space and realise it’s all just a projection and amplification of our inner world anyway.

Lots of love, Kat
