Mmmm, the sweet season of holidays. I originally had a ‘letter’ written to remind us all that *novelty* (i.e. doing new things) makes us perceive our time as more abundant, stretchy, and meaningful. I might do that full ‘letter’ soon.
*And* (no ‘but’s), I’m in a big season of expansion — Oooo baby, meeting my next edge — and that doesn’t need to stop for the holidays (for me, or you). Some big things are moving through me and rolling out soon that I can’t wait to share + invite you on the journey.
So, today’s ‘letter’ is for those seasons… of expansion, becoming, of choosing, and calibrating to your next level — making things feel instantly easier and possible. Plus, it’ll make the holidays better too. :)
To our edges and inputs.
with love,
from me to us. xx
Dearest courageous lionesses,
During the height of covid house buying (10 bids, cash offers beyond asking price, etc.), my hubs and I were looking at a specific house to purchase. We wanted it but we didn’t know what the competition would be like or what we’d need financially or strategically to “win”.
While in conversation with a family friend about the details, he casually just said, “We can easily get you $200K cash tomorrow to out-bid and figure out the rest to secure it.” Like it was NOTHING. Like he was talking about picking up a coffee from Starbucks. (note: legally and ethically and not giving us the money, lol)
My husband and I side-eye 👀 each other and internally we’re both going, “What? How?”
Like a glitch in the programming.
I don’t even remember our friend’s approach… but I remember the expansion of possibility and a perspective shift in how things can work for me (and anyone).
Like a little secret, 3rd door option.🚪
Our family friend…
He sees the world differently.
He sees money and finances differently.
And thus, he acts accordingly. (i.e., differently).
🏹 Cue: an input of expanded possibility.
Flip side… When a friend in college learned that I was applying to study abroad, she was happy for me but her response was, “I can’t do that, I don’t have the money.” I responded… “The program I’m choosing is actually cheaper than our tuition now and approved by financial aid.”
🏹 Cue: Input of possibility.
Something unlocked. Possibility opened. She studied abroad and the trajectory of her life changed.
Last fun example: a few months ago… a business coaching client of mine was frustrated that she couldn’t get the line of credit she needed for her particular business (not to go in debt). She believed it just wasn’t available to her and harder to get as a woman. I just responded (in the same energy as our family friend had)… “I don’t believe that at all. We absolutely can. I believe it’s easier to get it as a woman.” Long story short… she now has a $75K line of credit and can increase it as needed.
These are all money examples (for the theme) but this applies to everything.
See the world differently and thus act differently.
Your inputs of possibility (or limits) matter.
We know the benefit of positive people. You can just feel it. *and* People who expand you, stretch the realms of options, and make you feel like not only is it possible, but it can be easy, fun, inevitable, no big deal? *That is magic*.
We have to intentionally choose that + filter that.
Not just anyone gets to speak into our lives — into our mind, hearts, actions.
When you’re in ‘rooms’ of people thinking differently, bigger, even simpler, and you’re willing to be inspired vs. intimidated (or judgey)… Your world will expand.
You will expand.
The women I attract in my sphere (hiii!)…
We’re not willing to leave a life half lived.
(If you are, I’m probably not for you. I still love you!)
That requires Courage. Evolution. Growth. Expansion. Embodiment.
Meeting our edges of possibility and potential.
And it’s wildly more fun and helpful when you have different inputs of possibility and different lenses to see the world and what’s available for you.
When you’re around people who…
Know how to get $200K tomorrow. (no-sketch, ethical ways)
Believe selling is a sacred act and of highest service
Choose the ‘play’ and fun in making big moves (i.e., play to win)
Don’t buy into an industry’s way of doing things, and do it the most alive + aligned way to them (thus setting the new standards)
Live as though mama self-care is the act of service as it is *the fuel* that sets the vibration for the entire family
Believe it’s safe and needed to let yourself want what you want (buy the lotto ticket)
Put extra weight on your set at the gym (without asking) because they know you’re capable of more
Love & respect men and hold high standards of romance
Own + live ‘nothing to prove, nothing to hide, no one to impress’
+ so many more…
You change. You calibrate. Your world changes.
It alchemizes you one way or another.
It collapses *and* expands time, healing, success, love, wealth.
It reminds us of the woman we’re meant to be.
You get to choose who speaks into your life…
Friendships, family, co-workers, mentors, courses, books, podcasts, social media, tv.
Don’t dilute yourself with the limits and fears of others.
Saturate yourself in only that which is good, expansive, and takes you to your edge (and beyond) of what you’re meant for... and see what happens.
Live, look, & listen beyond the reasonable. That’s where *your* magic lies.
To our edges and inputs.
with love,
from me to us. xx
My fave finds — tools, tips, people, books, products and more that are currently impacting + illuminating my life — to help you/us to live {a little} more by design, than default.
READING
This book is expansive, fun and very in line with this ‘letter’. I’m known by past sports coaches, family, husband, etc., that if you tell me I can’t do something, my response: “watch me.” Sometimes I forget this energy / mindset… but this book always brings the cheeky + possibility side out. There’s always a 3rd door.
GIFTING
Reading another lady’s Substack (I’m obsessed with the platform!), she shared some matches she was loving and I forgot how much I LOVE a good match book/box. I’ve given them as gifts to friends, clients, in program goodie boxes. I’ve got them stashed all around my house and thought you might love the reminder to romanticize life, too.
LOVING
Candlelight Concerts. I went to a Taylor Swift version last year for a girls night. We dressed up, went out to dinner before (in a snow storm), and had such a great time. I’m eyeing the Queen concert and the Imagine Dragons one for the hubs and I, but thought you might find one in your city too!
P.S. This new series is archived on Substack here! You’ll get the Lioness Letters delivered to you email inbox just like we always have. But, if you’re looking for an archive, on-the-go app (I’m obsessed!), or to connect with me/us (I would LOVE to hear from you!) — Substack just takes us to the next level and it’s free. Leave me a note or a ♥️ below!
