I honestly don’t remember the exact conversation, or the final moment the discussion went from maybe we should just… to “how about Thursday morning before school?” But at some point in the middle of April, my fiance and I decided that we just couldn’t think of a reason to wait any longer to get married.
So on Thursday, April 23rd, at 8:15am—on our back deck with our kids, our pastor, my mom with a phone in her hand, and his mom on FaceTime—Benjamin and I said yes to forever. And made it legal. Then we had cookies and donuts and left to take all the kids to school sufficiently sugared up, and carried on with the rest of our day.
And it was perfect.
