A bit overexposed printing on this 90-degree day. I did a second attempt that I prefer and will post soon.
My lowest exposure time in the summer months is usually …
11 minutes. This year, I started printing early in March, when my exposure times were 45 to 30 minutes. Each month, as it’s gotten warmer through the spring and summer, I’ve been able to lower my exposure times. I gauge them based first on the brightness of the sun and then on the level of transparency of whatever I’m printing with.
I’m not a very organized person, and I work from a very intuitive place. In a perfect world, I would create some sort of metric system based on plant density and its ideal exposure time. But that would be quite a time-consuming process, and for now, all those guesstimates live in my head.
I’m enjoying being consumed by the art-making process.
