Ocean asked me to drive him into town to play Pokemon Go for the 3rd day in a row.
I said no.
He accepted the no, then asked, “How about tomorrow?”
IYKYK… that’s a win!
One thing I’ve learned raising Ocean is that growth often happens so gradually we don’t notice it until we look back.
That’s been true of this newsletter too.
It turns out it’s been evolving for a while.
I just hadn’t caught up yet.
So if things start looking a little different around here over the next few weeks, it’s because I’m getting clearer on what this community has been becoming all along.
Plus, I cross-posted some important stories by Sarah Rosensweet (Happy Pride!)
and Melinda Wenner Moyer (Let’s Talk About Drowning).
If you want to learn more about what we’re growing into, read this:
“This was beautiful and deeply moving. ‘We were on the same team’ feels like the heart of parenting. Thank you for sharing such an honest story.”
This one has sparked many comments…
“When you talked about him being able to feel your anxiety...that is something I try to be aware of. Staying present and intentional is something I am working on this summer too!”
“Wow. Kids have the best questions.”
Don’t they? ❤️
I’d love to see your comments, but no pressure.
☀️ I’m just really happy you’re here!
A kinder future for our kids begins with kindness toward ourselves.
