In 2012 I dressed up like a sunny day, and then I revisited that idea again a couple years later in 2014. Both times I used a yellow hat to represent the sun. When I dyed my hair bright yellow last month I thought this was a perfect opportunity to revisit the idea yet again, but this time my hair is in on the theming!
I used a sponge brush and fabric paint to turn this thrifted dress into a cloudy sky, and paired it with my handmade rainbow collar clips (in my shop here) They’ve never been a big seller, but they’ve always been one of my absolute favorite items I ever made for my shop (they first launched in 2012, the same year as my inaugural sunny day outfit!)
I actually thrifted a pair of green shoes to go with this outfit, but then I was cleaning out some of the bins from my apartment that I’ve had stored in my parents’ garage (prep for my move later this year! woo!) and I found these shoes that were PERFECT for this purpose!! They are not green shoes that represent grass. They are LITERALLY grass. I put these out at my yard sale when I sold my house in 2024 and now I’m so glad that nobody wanted them lol!!
