I used to believe that the best way to measure alignment was to see what your external reality was reflecting. The money in the bank account. The great job title. The large friend group. The social media followers and engagement. The opportunities and gigs coming to you. The business sales. All external things that one can point to and say, “See, I’m on the right path. The proof is right in front of me.”

When I was still working in corporate in 2025, I was making 200k a year, I had plans after work nearly everyday, I had a large friend group from all different walks of life, my social media engagement was thriving, my dating life was active, my inbox was full of opportunities to share my light, and my life seemed iconic on the outside. It many ways, it was. I was as happy as I could’ve been in that season of my life.

Ironically, however—my body was rejecting all of it. My body was inflamed. My inner peace wasn’t consistent. I didn’t respect my money. The dates I went on didn’t satisfy me. The opportunities didn’t make me feel truly alive. Social media felt like a never-ending rat race. My soul kept whispering, this isn’t it, and I couldn’t wait for the day I could be on my destiny timeline.
