I know why we’re in a racism revival. We are a bell curve of souls. There are as many at the self-centered end of the bell curve with Trump as there are at the Mother Teresa other-centered end of the bell curve. Always. That will never change.
And if you’re selfish, you want more of the pie, so of course you’re a racist. You climb to the top to win. You don’t care about others. You don’t share like stupid Mother Teresa, who gives away her pie.
What changed was our schools. They used to have teachers like me who were called to teach—definitely a Mother Teresa-like thing—and we influenced students. We made them want to be citizens. We shifted the mood of that bell curve of souls toward the good. We were public servants without selfish needs.
Four decades ago, fascist-like administrators took over our schools. They got rid of people like me because we care and we’d report their wrongdoing. That’s what paved the way for all things selfish, including racism. Why would you believe in equality if you were selfish? You want more of the pie, and racism is great for making sure you get it! It gets you past millions in the line for power and money!
Others call it a failure of empathy. I call it a failure to create empathy. How could we have a society where people were less selfish? Good schools.
I, along with thousands of teacher whistleblowers, have tried to tell you this since 2002 at WhiteChalkCrime.com with our stories at EndTeacherAbuse.org. Not one reporter has investigated. Not one teacher whistleblower has counted in all the education reform they have pretended to accomplish.
We are like the Epstein victims, but crying out for society’s sake. We’ve gotten nowhere. No one will listen.
We have Trump because of our schools. We have racism because of our schools. And we have people who won’t spend their time looking into our schools because of our schools. We’re a shallow society because of our schools, so we can’t look deep to solve our problems.
That’s why I wrote a memoir of my teaching experiences, A Graver Danger. People who read it get this shifting-of-the-bell-curve concept.
But most people won’t read a deep book.
It’s won nine awards because they read it to assign awards. I’m not famous. I’m no Kardashian. I’m just a dedicated teacher who’s spent thirty years trying to expose this. I don’t count in this society. That’s our problem in a nutshell.
We have schools as twisted as if nuns were wearing Gucci handbags, and no one questioned what happened to the Catholic Church!
And Randi Weingarten, Union President, wrote a book recently saying how important teachers are for democracy, just like mine does, but her book omitted the truth— teachers are powerless. Both our unions have gone along to get along in fear of the fascists in charge. Her book was a bestseller. Mine is the book that the powerful hope you won’t read, and so far, they don’t have to worry.
Here’s me in 2008, warning we’d lose our democracy, when I carried an extra sixty pounds that I gained enduring the abuse that goes with being a dedicated teacher.
I wonder how many people will take the time to get through the YouTube advertisement to watch me proving that in 2008, I knew we’d lose democracy due to our schools.
And by the way, in the speech, you’ll hear me say that there were no reporters there. After the speech, someone pointed out a Washington Post reporter. She turned her back on me and scurried away when I tried to speak with her, despite knowing the cost of putting on a presentation on the DC Mall.
There were sandwiches for the press and all the equipment needed, as if we counted as part of society. There were permit costs. It was like we threw an elegant party and almost no one showed up. Not doing their job started long before Jeff Bezos bought that newspaper!
Reflect on what she overlooked. Someone covered a huge expense to be there; fewer than fifty people showed up; unions had warned teachers not to attend or face retaliation, which was a story, even if she thought my claims that our schools were going to destroy our democracy sounded crazy to her.
If you want a society that’s kind enough to get along, you need people like me with enough power to keep our jobs. The bell curve will never change. Never. That’s what our higher power gave us and said deal with it. He or She also gave us called-to-teach teachers to handle it.
Fascists know how to trash those types!
When people figure out that we slid downward because of our schools, they’ll be on the way to fixing things. It sure could happen a lot faster if reporters would contact me, as I have evidence galore.
For instance, there’s a copy of an altered document my district unlawfully put into my dismissal record in my book. I have an affidavit from the parent who wrote that letter. I have the voicemail from Oprah’s researcher, who called me with my 2008 book in hand. I have a panel of teacher whistleblowers ready to hit cable TV explaining everything, including one whose district criminally indicted for trying to prevent a Columbine at his school. And people wonder why we have school shootings? He’ll explain.
The bottom line is that once fascists take over anything, fear takes over. That’s why even the best reporters don’t know this. And it’s complicated. It takes time to learn. So I’ve never blamed reporters or leaders from both parties who let this happen. I have waited patiently for when people could listen to me. Perhaps things needed to get bad enough so we could be heard. We’re Trump’s silver lining.
And if you don’t believe we are a bell curve of souls, look at me doing this job to teach the public we’re going to lose our democracy, spending, not making money, for thirty years and that included me turning down $250,000 to resign and never talk about how they were harming children, while paying for attorneys so I’d create a paper trail to teach the public, not to mention other costs to keep websites up for years.
I’ve made a huge financial investment in this. I cannot get my illegally stolen job back for doing this work. And contrary to what most people think, books rarely make money. I took this on because I love democracy and hate racism and selfishness. And if you read this far, you’re close enough to me on the bell curve to not ignore me.
I hope you’re still with me because I know this is the issue that a public servant leader can use to solve our democracy problem. Shifting to the selfish side of the bell curve is what divided us. All we need to do is elect the leader who’ll read my book and listen to me, a person with a profile as opposite to Trump as it can get. We need someone from the other end of the bell curve to teach that leader how to fix our schools—our only spiritual institution—and everything will turn around.
We shall see how many will read, let alone like, this article. Once the truth about our schools explodes, then we will be on a path that makes racism so unpopular that people on the selfish side of the bell curve feel shame. That’s what our schools used to make happen. That’s what they can do again when teachers like me, rather than the selfish, who operate just like Trump, have power.
