I got fired so I could create a documented paper trail proving the deep corruption in our schools, corruption that is stealing education from our children and, in the process, stealing democracy from all of us.
It’s corruption that you’d never know about otherwise.
So in essence I got fired for you.
And now what you need to learn about our schools is at my newly revised website. So you no longer need to read my book.
For years, I believed people needed to read my books to understand what I had uncovered. Now, I have rebuilt WhiteChalkCrime.com so you can learn the essential story there. You no longer have to read my book to understand what is happening to our schools and why it matters to our democracy.
But our next president should read it. In fact, our next president needs to study it, along with my earlier books that go even deeper into the corruption, with the seriousness Abraham Lincoln brought to educating himself for leadership.
Because what has happened to American education is not simply an education problem. It is a democracy problem.
So please spend some time at WhiteChalkCrime.com. Then do one remarkably simple thing: tell other people about it. The people who know the truth must eventually outnumber those who benefit from keeping it hidden.
Because so few Americans know what is really going on inside our schools, those with power have been able to turn our education system into their personal treasure chests while teachers, children, parents, and ultimately our democracy pay the price.
Know this: exposing corruption is not my ultimate goal. Empowering teachers is. But we cannot truly empower teachers until we confront the corruption that disempowered them in the first place.
And when enough people understand what is happening, our future leaders will have to understand it too. Somewhere in America must be our next Abraham Lincoln.
Yes, there is a deep state. But I am talking about one we can document. For four decades, government leaders have failed to identify it, much less dismantle it. And until Americans understand this deep state of corruption in education, we will continue trying to fix the symptoms while leaving the machinery that created them untouched.
Learning about it is the first step toward the change we have craved but have never been able to make happen.
Now you have a chance to take that first step more easily.
Thanks for reading Karen’s Substack! This post is public so feel free to share it.
