The Czech version of this article was published on 30th June 2015. Somehow, I forgot (or was too lazy) to translate it. But now is the time to remediate this mistake.
Not long ago, I was asked by HRAJ LARP to photograph the Mutiny on the Bounty airship. To be honest, I expected it to be different from the real story of the HMS Bounty (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Bounty ), but I still expected more similarities. Neither Fletcher Christian nor William Bligh was there, but that made it even more fun.
Well, since I really don’t have time for more now, here’s just the official description of the game:
The improvement of the steam engine was the beginning of a glorious era. There is nothing that steam technology cannot do – a few years ago, it enabled trains to travel at an incredible speed of forty kilometres per hour and ships to sail independently of the wind or the muscles of rowers. Recently, the first airships took off, enabling regular trips to the New Continent. All that remains to be conquered is space! But let’s stick to the New Continent for now.
Every day, airships participating in the colonisation of the New World depart from all European ports, bringing new settlers, essential materials, and weapons for the armies fighting their way through hordes of dirty redskins. One of these ships is the Royal Aeronautical Society’s airship Bounty, a famous vessel that has crossed the great ocean many times and, together with its captain, fought many battles with air pirates. The new expedition is setting off in a few days, so come aboard, ladies and gentlemen…
Mutiny on the Bounty is a humorous chamber play set in a steampunk environment that allows you to take on the roles of noble colonists, not-so-noble colonists, and even completely depraved colonists, crew members, and other beings aboard the vessel mentioned above and influence the fate of the ship, your own, and maybe even the whole world! But probably just your own and perhaps the ship’s… you’re not THAT important, okay?
