Today’s FFS Friday celebrates Kit Kowalski, an Australian TERF, who has been relentlessly fighting for women’s sex-based rights in Australia for several years.

We've been awake for years, but we are shunned by the media, silenced by law enforcement, stymied by a complex and fragmented legal framework that forces us to fight on multiple fronts.

Things have been rough in Australia for the women fighting to protect the sex-based rights of women and girls. Regular readers know that Sall Grover has been fighting in court for the right to operate a female-only networking app. The Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner, who is responsible for implementing the Sex Discrimination Act, doesn’t appear to understand that women are female. The Courts have consistently interpreted Australian law against Sall.

There are a ton of Australian TERFs, and they’ll be described extensively in the upcoming book TERFLandia: How the Global Terven Will Win the Gender Wars (which is being published by the Australian publisher Spinifex).

When I was locked out of my X account, which had been hacked, Kit was one of two Australian women (Edie Wyatt being the other) who allowed me to log in using their account @DollhouseInOz, until I was able to get my account back. I will always be grateful to them for that.

In 2025, an Australian woman named Kirralie Smith was found guilty of the “unlawful vilification” of two male athletes playing in female sporting teams. Said “villification” constituted referring to men as men. She wrote all about it here.

On August 10, she posted the following about the US men who have announced their intention to join the WNBA:

I invited a team of males to register with Football Australia to expose their ridiculous policy that anyone who identifies as a woman can play in the women’s division.

I was advised by local officials that as long as the men pay their registration fees, they would be accepted.

Before we could register the team, police showed up on my doorstep to issue me with apprehension of violence orders and summons to court for vilification and harassment. All for wanting to expose the lunacy of such policies. There was never an invitation to harm anyone, only to expose the dangerous policies.

I also took images from the public domain, football (soccer) sites, that proved this was happening in NSW. For that I have been ordered to pay $95,000 in damages and pin a confession to all internet pages I operate.

Now it is happening with professional sportsmen in the USA we might finally get some light on the travesty happening in Australia? Good thing this bloke is American and not Australian or he would be in big trouble.

When international attention turns to the Aussie fightback, I often get the sense that the world is wondering “when will Australian women wake up?”. I agree. It’s not that women are asleep, it’s that we’re ignored. Australian women like Kit have been awake for a very long time.
