Greetings!

Happy Holidays to you and yours. Hopefully any and all celebrations you observed so far were full of warmth and merriment. Also, wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

I am so grateful for all of you on here and all the new subscribers. It’s humbling to see the growth this substack has seen over the year. I hope you all appreciate it as well, and the content so far.

November and December were very busy, but not always in the way I have hoped. Less so in the paranormal world, more so in my professional world. Changing careers and starting two new businesses has taken up a lot of free time over the last several weeks. Starting to even out now though, and winter break has given a bit more reprieve.

Thanks again all, and I hope you have a great start to another year. Can’t believe we are at the doorstep of 2026. What will your new year hold?

Report Your Weird Story

This substack newsletter has come to mean a lot to me over its entire run. I appreciate all the people that have come to read it and enjoy it. I am shocked we are at the readership we are. Thank you to all that support this. Hopefully, you all are getting something out of it.

The last couple issues, I have debated something. Should it change? Does it need to adapt? What is it doing? Am I really helping anyone? What is our goal?

I started out with wanting to make this somewhat of an info-tainment series, but, then also saw it as a way to connect with and help out other experiencers. Not just a place to stay informed. There have been analyses of situations and sightings. Sometimes there were book reviews. Other times I shared my own, ongoing experiences. It is really more free-form, much like how my mind works.

But with that, is a statement. This all comes at a cost.

It has been feeling more like a chore than something I love doing. I am volunteering to do this. I am not getting compensated for this. Which was not what this was about. But it takes time, focus, and energy. It has become draining when it is the last thing that I get to in the month. That is a clear sign something needs to change. There is a chance this is a result of becoming ‘busy’ with my new roles, but I am trying to build a future with those that this cannot feasibly do at this point.

Often, I spoke about not turning this into a paid subscription Substack. I said I never would, and I will stick by that. But if it comes to not having time and energy, things may need to change.

To that end, I am taking January 2026 to do a bit of planning, which means there will be no issue. For that, I apologize. But in its place, I might put out a simple, shorter special issue. Stay tuned on that.

Anyone read Budd Hopkins’ work? What were your thoughts?

I am currently reading his work from the 80s titled, “Intruders”.

I was slow at getting going, but then I started noticing passages that mirrored my own experiences. They were written transcriptions or descriptions of what experiencers went through during hypnosis or their recounted memory. These would trigger me in some way. Trauma. PTSD memory. Like a person walking on my grave. Areas that no one ever was told about. Connections I had yet to uncover.

ON THIS DAY IN 1966. December 30, 1966. 2:38 a.m. A Canadian Pacific Airlines DC-8 is at 35,000 feet on a northwest course off the coast of Peru. Capt. Robert Millbank and five flight crew members observe a pair of objects that pace the plane for 7 minutes.

ON THIS DAY IN 1952. December 29, 1952. 7:48 p.m. Col. Donald J. M. Blakeslee, 27th Fighter Escort Wing, while flying near Misawa, northern Honshu, Japan, in an F-84G at 27,000 feet altitude, observes an object like a rotating cluster of lights colored white, green, and red. He reports that the object is “rotating slowly in a counterclockwise direction,” or from east to west, and moving slowly west at aircraft speed.

ON THIS DAY IN 1958. December 28, 1958. 3:30 p.m. Joseph Bennett, a farmer in Portglenone, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, is out walking and hears a noise like a rush of wind.

ON THIS DAY IN 1909. December 27, 1909. Evening. A bright, mysterious light appears over Essex Junction, Vermont, drawing crowds into the streets. Some residents believe the object is the same aircraft reportedly seen earlier in Worcester, Massachusetts, possibly traveling north toward Montreal.

ON THIS DAY IN 1954. December 26, 1954. 8:30 p.m. Willis St.-Jean, a hoistman at the Agaunico Mine on the shore of Lake Timiskaming northeast of Cobalt, Ontario, sees a bright white light maneuvering in the sky. He calls John Hunt, a reporter at the North Bay Nugget office in Cobalt, to drive 3 miles to the mine to view it.
