Getting lied to...

Here’s the news: Over the last couple of years you’ve been getting told that “AI is the future” and that if you don’t “Use AI for every last thing you do, then you’ll get left behind.”

But in MY view, we are entering a time in the world (and this was happening even a little before AI) where technology for the most part isn’t even making our lives better like it was meant to. It’s in fact making our lives worse.

Can you use AI to write your content? Record your content? Create your content?

Sure you can.

Should you do that, for the sake of convenience? I don’t think so. You don’t HAVE to do anything.

Why so much pressure to adopt this stuff? I’ll tell you what I think. I think it’s because a lot of people have invested a lot of money into AI and they really need it to work.

But I’ll tell you something, at the end of the day most people don’t really LIKE reading stuff written by AI.

They don’t like watching videos created by AI, or listening to audios created by AI.

They don’t like buying AI generated art, or much of AI anything. People are starting to really reject the whole “AI” thing.

Sure not everybody. But I’m talking about the end users and the customers. The one’s who actually pull out their credit cards and buy things.

They didn’t ask to try and call customer support and have to navigate a maze of 3 BOTS and a 30 minute hold time...

They didn’t ask to have their online mentors replaced with “digital clones” of the real thing. They didn’t ask for people like me to constantly shove AI tools down their throat.

In my view, a lot of the hype around this stuff is manufactured. I don’t think people love AI nearly as much as what is being advertised and I don’t think the constant nagging about being left behind is a real threat.

In my view? There will always be those who prefer the genuine article. And I’m quite sure I am not the only one that thinks technology for the most part is moving in a WEIRD direction that isn’t really that beneficial.

I don’t hate the internet. I don’t hate smart phones.

I just didn’t ask to be, nor do I want to be “connected to my smart phone” or “connected to the internet” to FUNCTION and operate every single aspect of my life.

Why should I have to have a smart phone just to do a grocery store pick-up? Ridiculous.

Why does the lady in the watch department have to have a smart phone to open the watch case? Why does she not even work in that department and doesn’t know a damn thing about watches? Preposterous.

In our quest for convenience, in my view, we’ve actually made things a little worse. I’m telling you my goal is to scale all this technology back a little bit. If it doesn’t add benefit to my life, I am rejecting it.
