What not to take
Sometimes souls are meant to part Just to better meet once more I still love you, and to the core I’ll take for you a poisoned dart

Sometimes souls are meant to part Just to better meet once more I still love you, and to the core I’ll take for you a poisoned dart
I still cherish the ground upon which Your delicate soles make their way And although I do not have a say With your love I am plentiful rich And if ever someday there’s a glitch And without you I am meant to stay I shall live my whole life with no ray And to death will my heart stir and twitch
Why do you pop in my day Just enough so I don’t get enough Longing for you to just stay These withdrawals are simply too tough
I envy the world that is seen By your eyes, how tender a view I envy the sounds, old and new To hear them with you I am keen I could add a verse but I’ve said All I have wanted to mean Emptied my heart and my spleen And ready you’ll leave me on read
And every sign that comes I’ll think leads me to you The berries and the plums Sweeter than them a few And while I sit and ponder What next I could pursue I cannot help but wonder If it was any true So push away the lover The one away you blew Stay hidden under cover From dreams that we once drew
I look for you in every face In every sound in every place I know I should be off the case And yet you beat with my heart race So to this day I keep the chase I long for you, your every trace To you still tied with special lace Forever victim of your grace
Wished for your face in sight And manifest with might A future oh so bright Where love will reunite This weight isn’t so light Picking it is my right And if not with delight I’ll love you out of spite
I heard it, once or twice Three times even — or more This love just won’t suffice To bring a ship to shore Many as grains of rice Louder than tiger roar These feelings - special spice Still warm me to the core
If you were here, right here I’d nibble on your ear I’d pull you to be near Without a single fear For you have been my dear The one I yearn to hear Whose presence is my cheer In future, crystal clear
Let me pull you to me when it’s time I have once told you with assurance Now I hear the bells gently chime Tell the start of a life in your presence
