“I am the one you pretend to be”

Dear Diary,

Maybe it’s the solar eclipse in Leo that has just passed us by...

Maybe it’s the fact that it was passing by the 12th house of the subconscious mind in my own personal starchart...

Maybe it’s because my very identity, my image, has been taken in order to be distorted by others on the inter web, the inter net of lies…

But something interesting is happening...

My friend from Greece told me that the word eclipse originates from the Greek word meaning ‘abandonment’, a forsaking, a failure to appear. So when the sun disappears behind the shadow, they say that Zeus darkened the sun as a divine punishment, to remind us to be in awe of his great power.

So, if this new Artificial Intelligence world we live in can steal our images and distort our identities so effortlessly, then maybe it’s time to take a new approach on how to live this life more fully. Since the Leo sun represents the Self, the light of the self, and the solar eclipse abandons that light, then it seems to me that it is teaching us to abandon the confinements of the small Self that we hold on so tightly to. To let it go, even for a little while, so we can open up to new things, more change, more acceleration, more growth in this world. To be expansive, with a limitless possibility.

I found a quote written on the side of a mail holder. It said, “I am the one you pretend to be” and it cited Franz Kafka as the author. I can’t find where Kafka actually wrote this, but the sentiment felt timely to me because I have had several pretenders pretending to be me on the internet. They’ve used my picture, my full name, and my gmail account. They’ve even used a handle that almost looks like it could be legit.

But no matter what - as the stoic emperor of Rome, Marcus Aerilius, wrote in his diary - the culprits themselves, are still my brothers. I know that their actions come from being swept up in the illusory game of life… from trying to control the paths of others, to trying to put someone else down in order to advance themselves. But to fight against each other is against Natural Law. We are meant to work together. Sometimes the culprit is simply replaying the hurts and haunts of their childhoods, or the wounding or betrayals of adulthood. Sometimes the culprit feels like someone else’s life looks happier than theirs and so it seems the comparison drives them to mimic and even mock. But when someone makes fake accounts using someone else image, some else’s likeness, using their words, their voice, their body, their heart and mind and soul’s creativity, and twists it into their own version of reality... when they’re using Ai to defame somebody, in fact they’re only stealing away their very own soul. They’re delaying their own unique, beautiful God-given gifts from flourishing...

There is a buried treasure in everyone. There is an amazing deep dive into the ocean of the soul, staring into the sun and find the hidden truths, studying the stars, the beautiful blueprint frozen in the sky from the moment you were born and absorbing the clues into your calling, your path, your purpose... it is only for you, you are one of a kind, like a fingerprint in the sky.
