Weekly Wrap 2026-29

weeknotes

Quite a few of the blogs I’m subscribed to do these weekly recap posts and I always enjoy reading them. So I thought I might as well throw another thing on to the pile of experiments I’m trying this vacation and give it a shot. I’m making no commitments with this experiment but, assuming I enjoy the process, I’ll do my best to keep this going.

As of right now I have no clear ideas on the layout or what I want to include in these posts so, assuming I end up posting more than one of these, expect some experimentation until I figure out something I like.

📋Life

I started my three week summer vacation this week. My day job has been incredibly busy these last few months so finally getting to have some time off is feeling great as I was really starting to feel quite tired at the end. Apart from that not much has happened this week. The heatwave we’ve been experiencing has left me out of commission for large parts of the day, but that has in turn given me ample time to relax and recover. Next week is looking like it’s going to be a lot more comfortable which is good as we’re planning on getting started with a couple of big home renovation projects. We’re not traveling anywhere this summer so getting some work done on our home is going to be a lot of fun.

🎨Art

I haven’t spent a whole lot of time in Blender this week due to the heat. But I’ve tried my best to spend a few moments here and there working out some ideas. As per usual most of what I’ve done has ended up being discarded, but my most recent attempt might turn into something. The plan is to spend a few hours working on it today and then I’ll see if it’s still something I want to keep going with.

🌐Website

Made some tweaks and small design changes. Happy with how things are progressing for now. Added an Explore page as well as the main navigation bar is getting crowded.

🏋️Fitness

This is probably the area where I’ve made the most progress as of late. I’ve made it to the gym four times this week and I’m definitely going later today so that’ll be five session total which I’m very happy with. I’ve managed to slightly injure both of my arms in different ways (I should probably get that checked out) which is making certain exercises a little uncomfortable, but luckily it’s not affecting any of the big lifts so I can keep pushing those numbers.

📖Reading

This week I finished reading Daughter of Crows. I’m usually more of a sci-fi-guy than a fantasy-guy but this book was exceptionally enjoyable. Definitely recommend giving it a read and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
