Data Disc Basics

You can't see the turntables in the thumbnail, but DJ Yoda is about to spin some sick discs.
Now that you understand the basics of how to assemble a disc loadout, let’s talk about the NEW DATA DISCS for this conquest:
Caustic Recurrence (••••) - When a debuff on an enemy expires, they gain Damage Over Time for 2 turns, which can’t be resisted or evaded (limit once per turn).
Debuff Dismantler (••) - Whenever an allied unit gains a buff, they have a 30% chance to dispel all debuffs on themselves and gain 15% Mastery (stacking).
Disruptive Reactions (••••) - Whenever an enemy takes a turn, a random ally gains 100% turn meter.
My thoughts on these discs:
Caustic Recurrence - that “limit once per turn” potentially changes this from fucking incredible to pure horseshit. I’m hoping not. It could just mean that that disc can only trigger once per expired debuff, which would make this like a buffed version of Darth Vader’s leader ability. But if it does mean only one trigger no matter how many debuffs expire, this is worthless.
Debuff Dismantler - this seems pretty damn good. Combo with a couple of HoTs or Solid Intel or other buff positive discs and you should be effectively immune to debuffs, plus gaining a near endless supply of mastery (depending on the enemy, of course). At two dots, this seems like a decent value. Note that this is technically NOT a new disc. It was last seen five years ago! Regardless, it’s decent.
Disruptive Reactions - Another disc that isn’t technically new but is very old and was super rare even then, so it bares discussion. This is (obviously) great. Free turns! Never be tm trained again! (Does not work if Hux is present).
Once we know what discs are in this conquest, I’ll update this section with my suggested loadouts and combos you can abuse, as well as a full list of known discs farther down.
Suggested Disc Combos:
Combo 1:
Zealous Ambition (••) x3
Guard and Penetrate (•••)
Heal Over Time (•)
ZA just makes a lot of teams wreck face. G&P and HoT are there to help with survival, especially in later rounds when the enemy outspeeds you. ZA isn’t the uncapped offense I usually prefer, but it’s so strong that doesn’t tend to matter.
Combo 2:
Desolation (••)
Caustic Emissions (•)
Unstable Decelerator (••)
Normally I don’t go in for CE but in this case it triggers Desolation constantly. Same with UD. I mean, I DO go for UD normally, and also it triggers Desolation constantly. Sheesh. Pedants. This combo is a little slower to start than stacking ZAs, but that can be a boon when you’re trying to apply debuffs. probably my favorite combo in the set.
Combo 3:
Critical Debuffs
Caustic Emissions x4
Ability Exhaust
Stun Exhaust
This is a kind of weird combo. The goal is to get 10 debuffs every turn, so you may be able to get by with just 3 CE discs (1 blue, 2 green OR 2 blue, 1 grey as minimums). That’s 10 debuffs per turn, which will trigger ability exhaust, permanently ability blocking your enemies. Stun exhaust takes it a step further and stuns them every other turn on top of the ability block. Critical Debuffs can also be replaced by a blue CE disc. This also (obviously) has synergy with Desolation, but the goal of going with this set is more about total control than about ramping damage and health for your team. I would not set out to build this combo, but maybe roll into it from the above Desolation combo if you have the opportunity.
Combo 4:
Premonition (••••)
Evasive Technique (••)
Heal Over Time (•) x2
I wasn’t going to do a 4th combo but then I got a Premonition disc and figured this was worth mentioning. Just comboing evasive technique and premonition is strong to keep you gaining turn meter and cooling down your abilities, but HoT is the best “buffs per dot used” disc in the game, providing up to 4 buffs for a single dot (if you have a blue HoT). Even with two greens, plus Evasive technique you’re up to 7 buffs per turn so you’ll always be gaining foresight from premonition, which means you’ll always be dodging and triggering the tm gain from Evasive technique. Add in a couple ZAs or Desolation + CE x2 combo for excellent damage and survival.
