The more you practice creating diagrams, the better you'll become at distilling complex systems into visual representations that everyone can understand.
It's a wild ride of a book - Taleb doesn't hold back in his opinions and isn't afraid to call out people he thinks are full of it. But, that's also part of what makes it such a fun read.
The blank page is a daunting taskmaster. It taunts you with its emptiness, daring you to fill it with something meaningful and substantial.
Learn how to effectively manage async tasks in your code and avoid common pitfalls such as improper error handling, excessive nesting, and failing to cancel unnecessary tasks.
I encountered psychological barriers while refactoring a React app from JavaScript to TypeScript, and had to work on controlling my tendency to get sidetracked by disorganization or flaws in the code. I learned the importance of staying focused and sticking to the plan in order to avoid scope creep and unnecessary bug fixing.
While parenting has its challenges, like working around a child's schedule, the rewards are so worth it.
One of the most important concepts to understand for optimizing React is memoization. Memoization is a performance optimization technique that eliminates the need to recompute a value for a given input by storing the original computation and returning that stored value when the same input is provided. Caching is a form of memoization.
So it's been more than a month since I have been using a monolithic journal. Including each of the tasks I need to do on a daily basis.
I like reading first thing in the morning, especially when I haven’t done any screen time right after I wake up. I usually do it on the rooftop a few minutes before sunrise with a cup of coffee ready in my hand. I have a study chair that often you find in classrooms in college that has a table built-in into it. I have it on my rooftop, and I often use it specifically for these occasions.
If you are here, I assume you already convinced that Typescript is useful, and how it can help you to write better javascript projects.
This post is still related to my transition on using Macbook Apple Silicon, and it's about this website.
Recently I bought an Apple's M1 Macbook Pro. As I am still transitioning from my old MacBook, it might be helpful to document some findings from the developer perspective, especially for developers working with javascript stuff on a daily basis like me.
Murakami's quote pretty much nailed the reality here, and it's been one of the most prominent lessons that I got so far in life and my career. About managing your expectations on things, better yet, you should not put any hope on humans or institutions. Make plans to mitigate the worst situations, but don't expect that the outcomes will be excellent.
The diagram above is one example of how to design Twitter. If you are new to software engineering jobs or involves in large scale web architecture, the diagram above might look so complicated, but we will discuss it later.
In the previous post, we discuss about managing state in React's [class component](/pure-react-class), [Hooks](/state-pure-react-hooks), and a [data fetching strategy](/state-react-thunks). In this last part of the series, we are going to explore a Thunk and recap the series about implementing state management in pure React.
In the previous post, we discuss about managing state in React's [class component](/pure-react-class) and [Hooks](/state-pure-react-hooks). In this third part of the series, we are going to explore a data fetching strategy.
Reducer is a function that takes two arguments, a current state, and an action, and demonstrates how to write a reducer function. With a reducer the state management of the state from the components rendering the the state.
One of the hardest things in building a complex javascript application is a state management. It's why there are so many state management libraries available and more coming around every day. As applications get more complex, the big challenge in the web application is to tame and control the state. And let the main job of React is to just take your application state and turn it into DOM nodes.
The world we work in today is not the world of Leonardo Da Vinci, of Michelangelo, of Marie Curies, of Ernest Hemingway, or even Bill Gates in his most productive years in the early years of Microsoft.
Last month I spent a week in Vancouver attending Node + Javascript Conference 2018. I have written a long write up about the trip and the event in this medium
Sekitar dua minggu lalu gue membuat halaman [AMA (ask me anything)](https://www.jurnalanas.com/ama) yang semi-anonim.
I already have a clear picture of what the library in my dream house will look like. It will be filled with many interesting and classic books including Harvard Classics collection, Ibn Battuta's Travelogue, and of course, Feynman Lectures on Physics series.
Hi. Yes. Sorry. Like I said [last week](/2018-03-25-weekly-roundup/), I've been working on a huge writing project, and apparently, I have an insufficient amount of time to other writing and programming short projects. Currently I'm working on the web thingy side on that right now.
It has been a tiring week for me. I did a lot of traveling lately, such as four enjoyable days to visited Bandung, and then I went back to Jakarta. And only two days after that I went to Bogor and went back to Jakarta again on the same day.
This morning I stumbled upon [a video](https://www.thegreatcoursesplus.com/films/title/ibn-battutas-search-for-knowledge) that mentions one of the famous traveler, Ibn Battuta. And the deeper I dig, the more fascinated I am by his journey. It is one thing to visit a place and buy merchandises before return to home, but another thing to travel intentionally to explore foreign lands in the pursuit…

Apa rasanya kalau kita sedang membaca buku bagus?
*Well,* sedikit hhe..
Bahkan mencoba meniru berbicara seperti kakaknya.
