Instalove romance books have grown in popularity over the past few years as have shorter romance novels. The two are often one and the same, but not always.
From a writing standpoint having characters instantly fall in love makes writing a shorter romance much easier. There isn’t a lot of time spent on the characters’ ‘wounds’ or even the meet-cute. Whether they are fated mates or not, they fall for each other rather quickly. But is it love or lust?
I don’t hear too many people debating this, probably because they’re more interested in simply enjoying the book. There is something to be said for suspending reality and not even differentiating between love and lust…. just have the characters fall for one another, then reach for and finally achieve that HEA. This could be why my writing leans towards longer books. I enjoy the slow burn, the development of characters, and the characters going through the various trials and tribulations of getting to know one another until they finally realize this is their soul mate (or soul mates for polyamory/why choose).
Either way, I’m rambling… Let’s get to the part you’re likely most interested in… FREE & 99¢ BOOKS!
The books featured above are all Instalove (or Instalust as I prefer to call them). Shadowed by the Alien is currently free as part of this promotion, as is Ransom’s Revenge.
I hope you find plenty of romances filled with love (or lust) and of course that well-earned Happy Ever After.
Enjoy!
Julie
There are a few arcs left for the upcoming release of Stuffed by the Alien for anyone who’s interested.
