Issue #1: Oops, he's done it again!

Once again, Trump has impulsively done something that is unconstitutional and at odds with what he said he was going to do. He initiated a war with Iran without informing anyone but his cabinet. Then, he realized he had created a situation when Iran retaliated by essentially closing the Strait of Hormuz (limiting the transportation of oil to the world). Without having previously informed our allies of his intention to attack Iran, Trump then requested assistance from them to force the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. And, guess what? They’re not buying.

Common sense would tell anybody that after being a bully towards our “allies”, placing tariffs on the world, and being an anti-collaborator, you’re not going to get people lining up to jump into a “war” of your own making.

We are now into the second month of the US-Israeli attack on Iran. Trump doesn’t know when it’s going to end, but he “can end it at anytime”. The “war” (Trump’s words) began on March 1st with no approval of Congress, no notification to US allies, and no information shared with the American people.

You don’t have to be a genius to figure out what this military action will do to the US. For starters, since oil is a key resource of the middle east, anyone could have realized that our gas prices were going to go up. And, from there, everything else will go up. More than it already has.

And, there is a multitude of consequences that follow any military action. Death, destruction, financial ruin….. name it.

I say, “Wake Up, America!” This is so out of control.

ICE continues to surface in the news with tragedy.

A young Afghan man was detained by ICE and sent to one of the containment centers. According to reports, this is an individual who fought side by side with the US in Afghanistan and was evacuated to the US in 2021. He was arrested on Friday evening, March 13th and died over the weekend in a hospital.

While it seems that he was brought to the hospital when he had chest pain and shortness of breath, it looks like there should be an investigation into what caused his death. He reportedly had a swollen tongue.

The following are quotes from people (obtained from local media resources) who appear to be clueless about what is happening in our country. And I kid you not, these are actual quotes:

“Was anyone else’s oil delivery, ridiculously high?” This person is obviously living under a rock.

And, there were some of the ridiculous responses, again clueless as to the reason:

“Oh yeah mine was very high $100 more than usual.”

“How much was it? My gas (heating gas stove hot water) is like 450/mo. When I converted from oil to gas I thought I was going to save a lot more.”

“Oil prices are insane! I’m hoping the little oil I have left will last and I’ll refill in the summer when the prices hopefully drop! I wish it would get warm already!”

Really…… you don’t know that we are in a war with Iran and this has affected oil prices. What the heck?
