Ce n’est qu’un au revoir

I started this newsletter 5 years ago. The first dispatch was about how Montreal summers had inspired me... A very serendipitous subject, seeing as I’m moving back to Montreal this summer. In fact, when you read this, I’ll already be there.

The decision to relocate was made a while back, so I’m as psychologically ready as can be, but I’m feeling all the feels. Excited, stressed, sad, happy.

This last month was very busy organising the move, completely throwing off my art-life balance. Meaning I barely had any time to create. I suspect my first couple of months back in Canada will be equally busy—finding a job, finding an apartment, catching up with friends—thus keeping me away from my sketchbook or any new artwork to talk about. Plus, writing and laying out this newsletter takes quite a lot of time too.

For all these reasons, and because the 5-year mark feels like a nice time for it, I’m pausing Inspired for a while. Not forever! I very much intend to carry on creating once I’m settled.

I don’t say it often enough, but I really appreciate you taking the time to read my reflections about the creative process. See you in your inbox in a near-future. After all, ce n’est qu’un au revoir.

The fact that she’s a writer makes her newsletter especially interesting, it sometimes makes me feel like I’m reading a novel. After reading it, you might not want to come back to mine when I start it again!
