Books on a Boat

Our first publication, The Last Lady B by Eloisa James, is printed and currently sailing to the USA, where they will be packed into pretty pink boxes before making their way to YOU.

That’s the good news. The less than good news is that due to, well, lots of things, they will be shipping slightly later than anticipated and are currently expected to leave our warehouse late August/early September. We’re terribly sorry for the delay, but this is our very first book, and we wanted to make sure everything was perfect.

We think The Last Lady B will be worth the wait, though. We got some photos from our printer, and it’s beautiful!

We’re also happy to report that production on An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole (our second book) is actually ahead of schedule, so this should be shipping out on time in late September.

In other news, most of our Diamond Club members have received their glassybaby votive candle holders. (About 10 are still in the mail.)

If you’re a Diamond Club member and you haven’t received yours by the end of July, please message us on Kickstarter, and we’ll crack some skulls. (Just kidding. We will kindly and respectfully check with FedEx.)

And if you’re NOT a Diamond Club member but are wishing you were, it’s still possible. Message us on Kickstarter, and we can take care of it. As a reminder, Diamond Club members receive all nine books in our 2026 and 2027 subscriptions, The Last Lady B vellums, An Extraordinary BookMark, the Lord of Scoundrels stationery set, an autographed copy of the Julia Quinn title of your choice, voting rights in our next pick-the-book poll, and the JQE limited edition of What Happens in London, which it so happens we’re working on right now…

Book covers begin with rough sketches, and we can’t wait to see where this one goes once The Posh Doodle adds color and depth.

We do have a few hints, though. Poshie (as she calls herself) has given us moodboards and palettes for Harry and Olivia.

As a reminder, this special edition of What Happens in London is a bonus for subscribers at select tiers. If you’re interested, please message us on Kickstarter, and we can work on getting you switched to a tier that receives it.

👩🏽‍🎨 JQ is working with artists for The Ornithologist’s Field Guide to Love by India Holton, The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas, and Lady Like by Mackenzi Lee.

💐 We’ve started our search for the perfect artist for the endpapers for Lisa Kleypas’s Wallflowers series (the covers will be done by Maggie Enterrios of Little Patterns).

🪩 And we’re busy making sure all of our Kickstarter items are ready to send to you! (See below for an outline of what ships when and from where.)
