‘Some nonprofit news outlets see a surge in search traffic’: Hanaa’ Tameez wrote for Nieman Lab about quarterly traffic rankings for nonprofit news organizations and how some sites saw surges after primaries or coverage of other major events.
“We found this heartening, in a time when many experts are writing eulogies for clickthrough from search engine results pages,” The 51st cofounder Maddie Poore told Nieman Lab.
‘ChatGPT Work for newsrooms’: Evan Hirsch of OpenAI will lead a virtual training focused “on moving from one-off prompts to practical tools built around the work journalists already do” on Tuesday, August 4, at noon ET, according to the event description.
“We’ll show how agents, skills and custom apps can turn one-off wins into repeatable newsroom tools — without outsourcing the sourcing, standards or editorial judgment that make the work worth doing,” Hirsch wrote.
