I was very fortunate to have Dr. W. Matthews Grant serve as an external examiner for my dissertation defense. Anyone who has followed my work will surely know that he has been one of my greatest philosophical inspirations, especially when it comes to articulating and defending divine simplicity.
So, I was especially heartened to discover that he not only did not positively hate my dissertation, but actually had many lovely things to say about it. Of course, he also had questions and concerns—and, by far, posed the toughest challenges of anyone on the committee.
Anyway, several weeks ago, Grant emailed me with the idea of returning to the podcast but switching roles—that is, having him interview me about the dissertation and essentially pick up where the defense left off.
How could I say no?
Please enjoy!
