One of the worst things you can do in software development
We’re programmers. Programmers are, in their hearts, architects, and the first thing they want to do when they get to a site is to bulldoze the place flat and build something grand. We’re not excited by incremental renovation: tinkering, improving, planting flower beds.
This is an interesting point of view. Funnily enough, I DO like incremental renovation, especially when it comes to my house and garden.
One step at a time is sort of my mantra and I love seeing things grow.
I should take some of that into my work, I think.
