On Tuesday, August 19th at 1pm ET, we welcome Carlos Louge to Economy 2.0. Carlos is an economist and lawyer by training and the Founder/Director of the Silvio Gesell Institute in Argentina.
Carlos has a deep knowledge of the history of economic thought and is the author of the book Keynes & Gesell: A New Paradigm, in which he argues that several of the core concepts in The General Theory were previously developed by Silvio Gesell during his time in Argentina. He also advocates a “Center-versus-Periphery” model which says that many important thinkers from South America are ignored by the mainstream field of economics and that one cannot have a full understanding of the intellectual history of the field without incorporating the rich tradition of South American economic thought.
