A coffee shop full of writers hunched over their keyboards. They all share one thought bubble: “If I write this script perfectly, all my troubles will be over.”
Hollywood is a city built on self-delusion.
The sad truth is that it doesn’t matter much how good your script is. Thousands of “perfect” scripts are written every year that will never get made. And terrible scripts get made all the time. Making a good tv show or movie owes more to alchemy than industry. You can improve your odds with talent, and hard work, and perseverance, but in the end, factors that are beyond your control — timing, luck, and “heat” — will make the final decision. It’s a terrible business.

No biro this time — this is a traditional pencil (?) drawn Turner. Great, easily recognizable mobsters, awesome detail on the facial scar. And I love the “dunno!” Thanks, Edd, it’s terrific.
