The Old Portfolio

I haven’t posted on Substack in a long while… so here we go.

Found these in an old portfolio while digging around in the garage. Figure drawings from around 1987 or so when I was a student at Cooper Union. Life drawing sessions were a big part of school back then, and I did a lot of these back then. Loose, gestural… maybe 10 minute drawings? I was encouraged to try new things, so out came the markers. Markers on newsprint don’t combine well, but in this case, I think they turned out ok. The paper has seen better days — a little yellowed and beat up around the edges, but hey, that’s almost 40 years of sitting in a garage.

There are more in the portfolio. Maybe I’ll share some others. And I promise to keep posting more art!!! Remind me!
