In 2014, I had a heartbreaking longing for connecting with nature.
Although I was up there making good money, had “good” friends, and was relatively comfortable, I could hear in all my bodies the call from the Earth.
—Come home.
But I could not come home. Not for long, at least.
I went camping, but only for a short time before I had to go back to my “normal” life.
I was high up on the ladder of technology, but I was missing foundational technology.
My body was aching to embody more fully in this life, to touch the ground.
Now, I call this: Ground Zero.
What happens when you’re missing the bottom steps of the ladder?
The essential technology that connects you to the ground is missing.
I.e.: Fire making, making a shelter, relating with other humans, planting trees, fishing, cooking.
You are in life, but only part of you is here.
This creates a major pain at the soul level. Your soul starts screaming for attention. This is the awakening. This is the shaking of foundations. This is a beginning and a call to embody more your human experience, rooted HERE and NOW.
A lot of the time, dominant modern culture would say —You’re just having a “mid-life crisis”. — Dismissing (by design) the importance and potency of this precious time of your development.
This calling is the force that moves a human being from childhood to adolescence, to adulthood, and, I think, to elderhood and to death.
If you’re around your 30s or 40s, this will be particularly speaking to you.
Your soul is calling for you to pay attention, to grow up, to skill-up, to let go of the old to more fully inhabit all your bodies with what is most important to you.
How do you do that in a society where authentic adulthood is rarely modelled?
How do you become a free and natural adult man or woman in a world that is privatizing and prohibiting access to the land, to making fires, to roaming, to wandering, to living of the earth?
How do you find your people and create community in a place that creates regulations that strangle the possibility of humans living and thriving together beyond survival?
How do you source the resources you need to live in a world that seems to demand more and more of you?
If these questions turn you on, and you feel something about them, then you might have seeds of regenerative human culture, and the pain you need to invent the next thing.
Gaining the skills you’ve been missing, the essential skills at the bottom, might take a few years. It took me about 10 years. And there’s more, there’s more depth, and practice that I want about it, but my being now doesn’t feel crippled. I could go anywhere, be anywhere, and I trust that I can take care of myself. I can just be.
What are you longing for?
What are you pissed off about?
The answer to these questions is not in your head but in your heart, and they hint to what you care most about.
Would you let yourself feel? Speak? Write?
Love,
Jorge
P.S.: Learning how to feel?
I condensed in 2 hours, the 4 years of training I’ve done in the Conscious Feelings world.
You can get it here: https://jorgepedret.gumroad.com/l/sourcing-your-feelings
In this 2-hour video you’ll get the doorways, not just to information, but to clear, concise experiments you can try to start your own discovery of your feelings, AND a massive global community of feelers, experimenters, pirates, healers, cultural creatives who are at the edge, not adapting, not playing stupid games, and reclaiming their power to create here and now the life they want.
There’s a lot of free and great information and practices out there. But, I’ve only seen the practice of conscious feelings in one place: The Possibility Management world.
